Thanks-Giving

This Thanksgiving let's take the time to tell someone about Jesus. If we think about what he did for us we should be thankful. If we think about how he gave up divinity & put on humanity for us. If we think about how he lived the perfect life, denying himself of what we call the pleasures on life, for us. If we think about how he allowed himself to be… Continue

True Love - Part 5 Taking Responsibility

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (Ephesians 5:25-26) Last time we we looked at how Christ gave himself for the church and how his sacrifice comp… Continue

True Love - Part 4 Sacrifice

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (Ephesians 5:25-26) As they hurriedly moved toward the burning building the weary firefighters were si… Continue

Stir It Up!

In the Apostle Paul's letter to Timothy he gives him a lot of great advice. In starting to read it it is hard to get through the first chapter without pausing and meditating on what is being said. In Chapter 1 verse 6 Paul tells Timothy to stir up the gift that is inside hi… Continue

True Love - Part 3 We Must Choose to Love Them

We must choose to Love them (25) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. Ephesians 5:25 Love 1 Cor. 13:4-8a (4) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. (5) It is not rude, it… Continue

True Love - Part 2 Assuming Our Position

In Ephesians 5:21 Paul instructs us all to submit to one another In the fear of God. Then he defines each of our roles in the christian family. In verse 22-23 he starts with the wives, then the husbands in verses 25-33. In chapter 6 he deals with children in verses 1-3, fathers in verse 4,… Continue

True Love - Part 1

Scriptures: Ephesians 5:21-25 & 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a I'm sure we've all heard the story. Boy meets girl, boy & girl fall in love, boy & girl become man and woman, get married and live happily ever after. This makes for good fiction but is seldom the case in real life. Most of our rea… Continue

Why Am I Here? Part 3

The only way to find out the answer to the question "Why am I here?" is through a relation with our creator. God has a reason and plan for each or our lives. Last time we looked at how we often get off track when we we move away from God's purpose for our lives. We can r… Continue

Why Am I Here? Part 2

In my last blog I wrote about Gods purpose for our lives. God speaks to us in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God is interested in each of our lives. Whatever you… Continue

"Lord, Why Am I Here?"

At some point in our life we all ask the question, Why am I here? We begin to wonder and long to discover what God intended when he formed us and brought us into existence. The sad truth is most people will go through life and never discover what their purpose in… Continue

A Kind Word

An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up. Proverbs 12:25 We have become so self absorbed that most of us never take the time to think about others. You never know what someone is going through. The next person you come in contact with could be going through the worst trial of their life. An encouraging word from you may be the difference between dispair and joy. They mak feel that no one cares. A loving word from you could let them know that someone does. No matte… Continue

Choices!

Just take a look at your life. From time to time we all need to slow down enough to do a self examination. We need to ask ourselves some tough questions. Am I where I want to be? Am I doing what I want to do? Am I the type of person that I want to be? Most of us go through life at such a fast pace that we never do this. Before we know it 5, 10, 20 years have passed and we don't like where we are and who we have become. It's never too late to make changes. No matter how far you've gone in the wr… Continue

Fight On!

The true test of a person is not how many fights he has won but how well he hangs in when the fight seems unwinable. So often in life we are fighting what seems like an unbeatable foe. It can be in our family life, health, finances or on our job. These seemingly impossible challenges seem to take the fight right out of us. This is not the time to throw in the towell, it's the time to dig in and fight. When we can stand and fight, even though it seems futile, we grow. It's during these times that… Continue

It's Not As Bad As It Seems!

Isn't it interesting how life never seems to go along with our plans. It always seems to throw us a curve when we expect it right over the plate. Sometimes it seems like we recover from one crisis only to be plunged into a new one. When this happens it is so easy to start a pitty party. It is easy to curl up and quit fighting. We can let despair creep in and tell us that it's useless to continue to fight, you'll never win. There is someone reading this who feels this way. I have recently felt th… Continue

Spiritual Authority

Today I taught a class that really ministered to me. The topic was Spiritual Authority and we used the book by Watchman Nee which bears the same title. Some of the things that we covered really stood out to me. One was, ALL AUTHORITY COMES FROM GOD! No matter who the person is that holds the position whether is in political, professional or in ministry, authority itself derives from God. He commands us to submit to authority as if we are submitting to him. Therefore if we rebel against authority… Continue

What a wonderful Class

Today we began another session of the LeaderShift leadership training at the Deliverance Temple Church in Memphis. There were 12 leaders in attendance. It was so refreshing to share with a group that was so attentative and hungry for a word from the Lord. I am grateful to Pastors Ivory & Lillie Swindle for allowing me to share with their leadership. We will be there for 11 more weeks and I am so excited because I KNOW that the best is yet to come. Continue

Get Ready, its about to happen!

I am so excited about what God is up to. I feel something stirring, not only in my life, but in the Body of Christ as a whole. There are many of us that have been praying a long time and it seemed like God was not going to answer. Just keep the faith. I feel that God is about to open doors that seem to be welded shut. He is going to launch ministries that for years have just been a distant dream. Whatever you have been praying about doing for God start moving in that direction. In this climate w… Continue

Don't Listen to Your Self Talk

As I have been working and planning the opening of the Training Center there have been a lot of obstacles in my path. It has been difficult to focus on the enormous task before me without being distracted by things on my job, with my family, in my finances and in the lives of those that I associate with. One thing that I have learned is that you don't share everything that you want to accomplish with everyone. There are some people that you just don't talk to. No matter how good what you want to… Continue
