What do you think about the need for more teaching and training in the church?

The place where many churches I am told fail the people is is the area of pregnant women. Many young unwed Chrsitian women that sin and get pregnant try taking their boyfriends to church and what they want is a sermon on how utterly wrong abortion is. One church minister asked his own congregation if any of the women in his church had an abortion and when he learned almost a 3rd of them had, only imagine the shock. If every minister across the US would ever week give 3 mintues to the subject of abortion..so many women could benefit..because they feel the church has failed them by not saying something. A 2nd issue is for people to understand that churches are like hospitals and people are in different stages of learning and growing in Christ. One example of this was a young woman in her teens that decided to go to a church for the first time. She was raped in the church parking lot by a man that had gotten out of prison the day before. She has 4 sons of her own now and wants no part of a church and her sons are missing much without God in their and her lives. Also the bad publicity about a Catholic minister that molested boys gives the opinion to many that the Catholic religion is like this and don't want their children there. There are many people online that have been shunned from a church, or kicked out and anything but loved and help..You will know them by they say I love God but have no use for religions. Another instance is a young woman that was a satanist and she wanted to be part of an online Christian group..her uncle told her go ahead and when she said she was a satanist the Christians judged her and hacked her apart and then banned her. Her uncle left a message in that group saying, this is why I told you to be no part of them, they judge, thay are ugly and they don't know love..I read that and then thought this might have been this womans only chance at salvation and now her fate is eternal damnation..The fact that she even wanted to try God I think God led her to want to try, she somehow knew there was something better. Another issue is our young grown men,,many of them get married and they don't have a clue how to be a husband or father and they get discourage and angry and give up. Many of these were abused growing up and they don't make good husbands or fathers until they heal their own pain and can be whole.. On the same hand we have a lot of young moms that were too young and trying to raise children alone and they need to be able to call a number to get support, or advice or encouragement if needed.

'Of Roses and Thorns' A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully. Before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw a bud that would soon blossom.

He also saw the thorns, and he thought,

"How can any beautiful flower come from a plant,

burdened with so many sharp thorns?"

Saddened by this thought,

he neglected to water the rose,

and before it was ready to bloom, it died.

So it is with many people ...

Within every soul ... there is a Rose.

The "G-d-like" qualities planted in us at birth,

growing amidst the thorns of our faults.

Many of us look at ourselves and

see only the thorns, the defects.

We despair, thinking nothing good

can possibly come from us.

We neglect to water the good within us,

and eventually it dies.

We never realize our potential.

Some don't see the rose within themselves ...

It takes someone else to show it to them.

One of the greatest gifts a person can possess ...

is to be able to reach past the thorns

and find the rose within others.

This is the truest, most innocent,

and gracious characteristic of love -

to know another person,

including their faults,

recognize the nobility in their soul,

and yet still help another to

realize they can overcome their faults.

If we show them the rose,

they will conquer the thorns.

Only then will they blossom,

and most likely, blooming thirty,

sixty, a hundred-fold,

as it is given to them.

Our duty in this world is to help others,

by showing them their roses and not their thorns.

It is then that we achieve the
love we should feel for each other.
Only then can we bloom
in our own garden.

Fathers Love Letter

WORDS OF WISDOM

Someone will always be prettier.

Some will always be smarter.

Some of their houses will be bigger.

Some will drive a better car.

Their children will do better in school.

And their husband will fix more things around the house.

So let it go, and love you and your circumstances.

Think about it!

The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.

And the most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children.

And the richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the clothes might be lonely.

And the word says, "If I have not Love, I am nothing."

So, again, love you.

Love who you are.

Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say,

"I am too blessed to be stressed and too anointed, to be disappointed!"

and pass this on to encourage another woman.

Once upon a time there was a little grape stem. This stem was so glad to be alive ...She drank water and minerals from the soil and grew and grew She was young and strong and could manage quite well ... All by Herself
But then, the Wind was cruel, the rain was harsh, the snow was not one bit understanding, and the little grape stem suffered She drooped, weak and suffering.

It would be so easy to stop trying to grow, to stop trying to live. And the grape stem was poor! The winter was long, and the stem was weary.

But then the little grape stem heard a voice. It was another grape stem calling out to her ... "Here, reach out ... hang on to me." But the stem hesitated.
"What would this mean?" she thought For you see, the little stem had always managed quite well, ... All by herself.

But then, every so cautiously, she reached out towards the other grape stem. "See, I can help you" it said. "Just wind your tendrils about me and I will help you lift your head." And the little stem trusted ...and suddenly she could stand straight again.

The wind came ... and the rain ... and the snow, But when it came, the little grape stem was clinging to many other stems. And although the stems were swayed by the wind ... and frozen by the snow, They stood strongly united to each other. And in their untired strength ... they could smile and grow.

And then, one day the little stem looked down and saw a tiny stem, swaying, frightened. And our little grape stem said, "Here, hang on ... I will help you." And the other stem reached up to our grape stem... And together all the stems grew ... Leaves budded ... flowers bloomed ... And finally, grapes formed
And the grapes fed many.
